A quick update on the third roast
Wednesday, September 12th, 2007As you may have read in an earlier post, I noticed that the coffee beans produced from my second coffee bean roasting had developed spots of moistness after being stored in an airtight glass container.
Now that a few days has passed since the third roasting session I thought I would see how those beans were getting on. The third roast was stored in a plastic container which allows the user to pump out the air, thus forming a vacuum. But alas, these beans also looked moist when I checked them this evening.
Having said that, when I picked up some of the coffee beans the moistness appeared to be oily rather than watery. So it is simply some oil coming out of the beans post roast?
I will keep my eye on this over the next few roasting sessions and keep you all informed.
